
Zhibo Liu is an Associate Professor in the School of Computer Science at Nanjing University. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 2023, and his B.E. in Information Security from Nankai University in 2019. Before joining Nanjing University in 2026, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at HKUST, supported by the prestigious Hong Kong RGC Postdoctoral Fellowship.
His research interests lie in computer security, reverse engineering, binary analysis, and software engineering, with a focus on addressing critical security and optimization challenges in both software and AI systems. He has published extensively in top-tier venues, including IEEE S&P, USENIX Security, CCS, ISSTA, and ICSE.
His contributions have been recognized through several awards, including Distinguished Paper Awards at IEEE S&P (2025) and ASE (2023), and an Honorable Mention for the HKUST CSE Best Ph.D. Dissertation Award. Bridging academic research and industry practice, Zhibo has also presented his work on AI system vulnerabilities and side-channel attacks at leading industry conferences such as Black Hat USA and Black Hat Europe.
